OVERVIEW
Relief and rescue works going on in and around Leh, but now news are coming that more villages are affected with the flood, which cutoff from Leh. The Government officials and Chief Councilor of LAHDC did a helicopter survey and have observed destructions everywhere. Boarder Road Organization trying to restore the roads connectivity Leh- Manali and Leh – Srinagar, Leh Manali may gets connected very soon by using the alternative road via Mahey bridge -Pholong Konka. As per the radio announcement total casualties 179 till 12th August evening and still more than 500 are missing, but there is no any assessment report from the Government side for the details of disaster.
By the efforts of so many volunteers and hospital officials especially the foreigners volunteers hard works the SNM hospital was cleaned from the mud and restored for proper use all the sections of the hospital including Operation Theater is working and hospital management announced to public that hospital is ready for treatments.
Update of relief activities of AMI on 12th August 2010
As usual rescue team was working in the Choglamsar area for the cleaning of mud from the houses and the river coming from Saboo. Still maximum population of the village are in the tent outside of the village they are managing their day to day life from the tent will take some more time to get back to their houses. Again today with the rescue team two Doctors went to Choglamsar village and Zanak Mane and have consulted 37 patients with:
1. Dressing of minor injuries 10
2. Upper respiratory trait infection 5
3. Gastroenteritis 10
4. Insomnia 7
5. Paedeturs 5
Relief team did a survey to different areas to see the needs of the people livening in the tents at Choglamsar, Saboo and Skampari areas and the following materials were distributed:
Sakmpari for two most affected families:

3. Spices (haldi/mirch) 8 pkts
4. Rice 20 Kgs
5. Dalda 1 Kg
6. Sugar 2 Kg
7. Milk 1 lit
8. Biscuits 6 Nos

10. Dall 3 Kgs
11. Tea 2 pkts
12. Mineral water 2
13. Plat 4 Nos
14. Glass 4 Nos
15. Big spoon 1 No
16. Mattress 2 Nos
17. Salt 1 pkt
18. Bucket 1 No
19. Shoe 3 pairs
20. Cloths 5 sets
To see the effect and needs of the people a small team went to Taru, Phiyang and Nimo villages with Mr. Deen Khan and have taken the following items for distribution:
1. Stove 1 No
2. Pots 2 Nos
3. Plates 4 Nos
4. Glass 4 Nos
5. Cloth of sorts 10 sets.
MC at the collection centres also distributed materials on the request of the victims after discussing with the relief and rescue teams and have collected donations of Rs. For the day.
